Also known as the “Serpent’s Peak”, the Trek to Nag Tibba is one of the best beginner treks in India. The stunning visuals of the Garhwal, the wide variety of flora and fauna, the mighty deodar trees, and beautiful wildflowers add color to the scene.
The Nag Mandir which you will see at the top is a temple made for the Snake God. Locals offer their prayers here for the protection of their cattle. From the summit, you can see the Bandarpunch Ranges in its entirety and that looks stunning.
The participants will report in Dehradun at 7 am, and we will start our journey to Pantwari village via Mussoorie and Kempty Falls. We will have breakfast on the way and expect to reach Pantwari before 10 am. After having a quick briefing session, we will start ascending towards Nag Tibba Base Camp. The trek route climbs through the Pantwari village, you can observe the step farming along the way. It will take around 4-5 hours to reach the campsite. After reaching the campsite, you can relax, have tea, and watch the sunset while sharing your adventure stories. Dinner will be served at the campsite, and the stay will be in tents.
We’ll wake up early, have breakfast and start climbing towards Nag Devta temple. There is a large meadow around the temple where the locals graze their cattle. After the temple, the trail starts climbing steeply towards the Nag Tibba summit. You climb through the forest cover. It will take approx. 2 hours to reach the summit from Nag Mandir. Spend some time at the summit gazing at the snow-covered peaks, You can see the mountain ranges of Nanda Devi, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, Swargarohini, and many others.
After this. we’ll start descending towards the campsite. The climb down should be relatively easy, however, we’ll need to be careful. Once we reach the campsite, we’ll pick up the rest of our belongings and start descending towards Pantwari village. We’ll board our vehicles once we reach Pantwari, and start heading towards Dehradun with a lot of memories and adventure stories accompanying us.
Nag Tibba is an all-season trek. You can find snow in the winter season, and pleasant weather in spring, summer, and autumn.
Nag Tibba Trek is approx. 15 km trek from Pantwari to Pantwari.
Yes, you can find snow in Nag Tibba in the peak winter months from December to March.
All participants are expected to be confident that they are physically and mentally fit and able to complete the itinerary of their chosen event as defined in the itinerary.
Any minors between 10 and 17 years of age must accompany their parent or guardian who assumes full responsibility for them to participate in the adventure activity or event. Any unaccompanied, underage minor will not be allowed to participate in the adventure activity.
