Imagine taking a walk in the mountains where every step shows you a new, beautiful view. That’s what the Beas Kund trek is like. It starts in Manali, a place many people go to see nature and big mountains.
This trek is not too tough, so even if you’re new to hiking or just want to spend some time in nature, you’ll enjoy it. While walking, you’ll see big mountains with snow on top and fields that are green and full of colorful flowers. It feels like being in a huge, open-air garden with the best views ever.
You’ll also get to see the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar mountains up close. They’re really big and covered in snow, and they make you feel like you’re in a special, hidden place away from the loud and busy city.
At the end of the trek, there’s Beas Kund, a small and quiet lake. It’s surrounded by mountains and is very peaceful. There’s an old story that says Vyas, a wise man, used to bathe here. When you look at the lake, it’s so clear that it looks like a mirror reflecting the mountains around it.
This trek is perfect for anyone who likes being outside and needs a break from the noise and rush of daily life. It’s not just about walking; it’s about finding a peaceful place in nature where you can relax and feel happy.

Your day starts in the beautiful town of Manali. Picture this place as your gateway to the mountains, where the air is fresh and the scenery is jaw-dropping. You’ll probably feel excited and a bit nervous, but that’s all part of the adventure.
First thing in the morning, after you’ve arrived and maybe grabbed a quick breakfast, you’ll hop into a vehicle for a drive to Palchani Thatch. You’ll be passing through some stunning landscapes that look like paintings. Make sure you keep your camera ready because you’ll want to remember these views forever.
Once you reach Palchani Thatch, it’s time to lace up your trekking shoes and adjust your backpack. The trek to Bakarthatch begins! This part of the trip is like a warm-up, not too hard but just enough to get your heart pumping. You’ll walk through forests that feel like they’re out of a fairy tale, with greenery all around you and the sound of birds chirping.
When you reach Bakarthatch, you’ll find yourself in a beautiful meadow. It’s a perfect spot to rest, take in the beauty of nature, and prepare for the adventures ahead.
Enjoy every moment of today, because it’s just the beginning of your trekking story!
Day 2 is when the real adventure begins! Get ready to trek from Bakarthatch to Beas Kund and then back. This day is all about stunning views, a bit of challenge, and a whole lot of fun.
After having a hearty breakfast at Bakarthatch, tie your shoelaces tight because today’s walk is special. You’re heading to Beas Kund – the star of this trek. The path might get a bit tough with rocky terrains and maybe some snow, but remember, every step is worth it. Imagine walking in a postcard; that’s how beautiful it is around here.
As you get closer to Beas Kund, the air feels fresher, and the landscape seems straight out of a dream. And then, you see it – Beas Kund, a serene lake surrounded by towering mountains. It’s so peaceful here, you’ll want to sit and just soak it all in. Take your time, and capture these moments in your heart (and your camera too!).
After spending some time by the lake, it’s time to trek back to Bakarthatch. The way back might feel easier, maybe because you’re carrying back beautiful memories. Once you reach Bakarthatch, give yourself a pat on the back. You’ve made it through an amazing day!
Rest up, because there’s more adventure waiting for you tomorrow.
On Day 3, it’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful Bakarthatch and make your way back to Palchani Thatch. After that, you’ll drive back to Manali. While it might feel like your adventure is winding down, keep your spirits up because there are still plenty of beautiful moments ahead.
Start your day with a good breakfast; you’ll need the energy for the trek back. The path from Bakarthatch to Palchani Thatch is familiar now, but you’ll see it in a new light as you’re heading back. Notice the little things you might have missed on your way up – the way the sunlight filters through the trees or the sound of a distant waterfall. It’s like saying a quiet goodbye to these beautiful mountains.
Once you get to Palchani Thatch, take a moment to rest and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment. From here, you’ll hop into a vehicle for the drive back to Manali. This ride gives you one last chance to soak in those mountain views, so keep your eyes peeled.
Back in Manali, you can reflect on your trekking experience. You’ve walked through some of the most stunning landscapes, pushed your limits, and made unforgettable memories. Celebrate your achievements and start dreaming about your next adventure!
The best time to go on the Beas Kund Trek is from mid-May to mid-October. This period is like the sweet spot because the weather is just right – not too cold and not too hot, making your walk comfortable and enjoyable.
Starting in mid-May, the snow from winter starts to melt, so the paths are clearer, and you can walk without slipping. Plus, everything starts to bloom, and you’ll see lots of greenery and flowers along the way, which is pretty nice.
Summertime, especially between June and August, is great because the days are warm. But remember, up in the mountains, even summer can have chilly mornings and evenings, so you’ll need a warm jacket.
After August, as it moves into September and October, the weather gets cooler, and the crowds get smaller. It’s a good time if you like a bit of peace and quiet on your trek. The views of the mountains are super clear because the air is crisp, and there’s less dust.
But keep in mind, after mid-October, it starts to get really cold, and the snow can start setting in again, making the trek harder and sometimes not safe.
So, in simple words, the best time is when it’s warm enough to enjoy your walk but not too hot that you’re sweating buckets. That’s mid-May to mid-October for you!
